In this unit, I have learned how to approach the first class as a teacher. This is to be done with confidence and to get a general feel of where the students are at individually and collectively. Informed preparation and establishing rapport with students is key to creating a positive and effective learning environment. Games are very helpful and should be used throughout the duration of the course, but will be particularly useful in the beginning.This unit was pretty straightforward, and mirrored my usage of books/materials over the years. I wholeheartedly agree: the best lessons are based on the individual needs of the students, as in planning special education curriculum.......or any, specialized, general curriculum for that matter.
I still struggle, somewhat, with the particulars of the lesson format. I know this will become very familiar to me as I continue to use it over a period of time.
