This unit focuses on the advantages and disadvantages of authentic and created materials.authentic material is not suitable for the beginners so it needs to be chosen with great care.It exposes the students to the real language and they gain know-how of the practical use of language in real life situations.On the other hand creative material can be graded to the level of the students as the teacher can include appropriate vocabulary in the creative activities to suit the need of the students and it is more student centered,though it can sometimes get boring for the students. Moreover,there are several advantages and disadvantages of using a course book as well.The teacher should always make sure that it is being used as a Guide and is not dictating the lessons.Materials from the course book should be adapted in such a way that the lesson is delivered in a most effective manner.
