This module discussed more advanced aspects of the English language like conditional forms and reporting what someone else has said. It made me realize that, in my everyday speech, I also report things that technically mean something else without realizing it and the intricacies involved in watching over the grammar of reporting language as to not confuse someone else. This chapter was a bit more formulaic in the approach to grammar than some of the previous ones, so it took a lot of going over the charts and figures before I think it really clicked.This unit was very new to me. It is very different to how I was taught to teach phonics and I found it really challenging. The phonemics symbols was very interesting and the information was adequate to along with the task sheet to help me understand them. I found the beginning part about the intonation interesting and I wonder what influence difference english speaking cultures have on it. For example, are the rising and falling patterns different for a native English speaker from American different to that of a native English speaker from Australia.
