Having read the title of the Unit I expected that the main topic would be maintaining a good discipline in the class. However, it was a good reminder for myself that Managing Classes is so much more than that. The Unit runs about sitting arrangements, creating an environment, which enhances the learning, arranging individual and paired/group work and pros and cons of such arrangements, and teacher?s personal conduct. The chapter provided a number of tips for an effective board work. I liked the section about establishing the rapport within the class.After reading through this unit explaining the various future tenses of the English language, I certainly have a greater understanding of the difficulties many non native speakers face when learning English. The differences between each future tense, particularly Future simple and be going to are quite subtle and therefore often challenging for both teacher and student. After reading this unit I feel better informed on how to go about teaching these in the future and hopefully will be able to help many of my students who often struggle with this point.
