From studying this chapter, I learned how important it is to teach intonation. As a native speaker, where you put emphasis on a word is something that comes natural. It will be important to help students understand that changing where you put stress on a word can completely change the entire meaning of a sentence in many cases. Another important topic learned is being able to pronounce words correctly by learning the proper placement of the mouth and tongue. When teaching, pronunciation it will be important to show students how to pronounce the words.The attitude of the teacher has a profound affect on the students and the outcome of the class. The planning also has an impact on the results of the class as it helps to have the appropriate aids to help the students so that the teacher does less talking and allows the teacher to help the students ore effectively. Overall, the teacher must be know the subject, the students level, talk at the right level and be a helper to the students and not showing off their knowledge. Getting positive participation and setting the right atmosphere really is important.
