Teach English in Killyleagh - TESOL Courses
I thought this was a great unit on grammar. It can be confusing to some the specific wording that can be required when it comes to correct grammar, and I thought the modal auxiliary verbs chart were very helpful and clear. The passive voice versus active voice is a subtle but important way to show knowledge of the English language, by focusing on the action and subject of a sentence more than the agent. Relative clauses, such as independent, dependent, and relative contain subjects and verbs, and are meant to describe certain subjects in specific situations. In the unit eighteen I examined modal auxiliary verbs and the passive voice in detail, as well as a brief overview of phrasal verbs and relative clauses.
I learned the basic rules and what 'modals' are and when and how can be used to express different ideas like: obligation, possibility, permission, ability or advice.
Another thing I studied about was the passive voice - form, usage, typical student errors/mistakes and teaching ideas.
In the end of the course I analized the three categories of relative clauses followed by the three types of phrasal verbs.
