I feel that this unit helped me to further understand and create ESA lessons and activities. This unit was quite insightful with regards to knowing and understanding how to teach vocabulary, grammar and language functions. I now know how to incorporate grammar, vocabulary and language functions into lessons appropriately and effectively; as well as know how to choose correct vocabulary. This unit however has not taught me completely how to teach vocabulary, grammar and language functions but I do know now how to set up appropriate lessons for the concepts mentioned.These videos helped me to understand the difference between an effective and ineffective teaching. Affective teachers appear again and again to display certain characteristics, while inffective teachers tend to make the same mistake repeatedly. Affective teachers is well prepared, makes difficult topics easy to understand, uses examples, details, analogies and variety in modes of explanation to make material not only understandable but memorable. Ineffective teachers disrespect students, teach without clear learning objectves, fail to provide variety in instrucion.
