In my personal opinion getting to know the tenses in English is very important. The most important aspect of tenses is knowing when to use the appropriately because in other languages it might change. For example in French to provide a similar tense to simple past, a speaker must use present perfect tense. In Spanish we a speakers tend to use present progressive as it if were simple present tense. Another important aspect is getting to know the typical mistakes when using different tenses. This allows us as teacher to practice more in those details to help our students to succeed.In this lesson, I was more focused on the writing portion of the course unit. Since I intend on teaching in Korea, I will need to learn how to provide a clear and simple way for them to writing efficiently in English. As stated in the unit, the English system is very complicated as there are many ways to pronounce and spell the same word. I will try my best to drill the more complicated words and tenses, and also provide books for them that will hopefully peak their interest. I do not want be overbearing though, so I will try to help them only when it is necessary for me to do so.
