Classroom management plays significant role in maintaining discipline and providing appropriate learning environment during a lecture. Keeping good rapport with the students, being polite, always there for monitoring and assessing students with language problems, enthusiastic and loyal towards teaching are some of the qualities of good teachers, that aid in maintaining ideal classroom conditions. Apart from teacher's personality, proper classroom arrangements according to students' ages, personalities, nationalities, lesson activities and students' number are of utmost importance.This unit made me aware of the different dynamics which come with teaching different sized groups. Moreover, the unit provided handy tips for establishing a rapport and friendly atmosphere with a class of students during the first lesson. I was able to see how to deal with mixed ability classes and I'm sure the activities suggested for larger classes will prove very helpful in the future. I now feel confident enough to work with reluctant students and I understand the importance of short yet fun activities at the beginning of a lesson to encourage the students to think in English.
