In this unit ,as with the present tenses, i learned the four different types of conjugations for the past tense, contexts for each of them and how to structure the sentence in positive, negative and question forms.
With the regular past simple verbs you have to place 'ed' or 'd' on the end however there are a lot of irregulars.
With the continuous tenses placing 'ing' on the end of the verb plus the use of the auxilery verbs can structure the sentence.The tense system is probably the area of the English language that causes students and often teachers a headache or the greatest amount of difficulty.
Take me as an example, I will be extremely careful when I am going to teach grammar.
It is not hard to make students to understand the tense system like form or usage. But the typical student errors in this chapter is a kindly reminder for teachers to give them the best example to explain it to students.
