There are so many factors to consider when teaching classes, and while there are many places where your lesson may succeed, small pitfalls and setbacks can turn the class into a disaster, or may simply be less successful than hoped. Without good rapport, the teach may not enjoy going to the class, as well as the students, and it is easy for everything to simply feel messy. Planing and consideration of each student and the group as a whole is important.In this unit we learned how to teach vocabulary to students. Keeping in mind that the isn't only one good way, we went through how to use the Patchwork ESA structure. We were given examples for each step : engage, study and activate.
In the engage phase the teacher shows the new words through pictures . From that phase there will be exercises and class activities/ debates. Once all the activities are done, students should be able to use the vocabulary.
