This unit gave me a wonderful insight in to what my previous teachers have done to make the instruction of my earlier education seem so effortless. As with most of the things we do in life there is a process to get from point A to point B in the most effective and efficient manner. Having a lesson plan helps to limit the possibility of going off the designated goal and benefits everyone especially the students by having a guide line for not only the primary instructor but any instructor to be able to deliver the class information.This unit provides valuable information about how to deal with common problems faced by teachers. I was particularly interested in the advice for teaching reluctant students. Having students work in pairs or small groups of mixed ability seems to be the best way to get full class participation without putting too much pressure on weaker or shy students. I learned some fun and useful ways to establish rapport with a new class, as well as the importance of having lots of extra materials to make sure that all students stay engaged.
