This unit, I think, has been the most vital and useful lesson so far. It is the backbone of a class and basically ties in every unit we have learned up until this point. I personally have never made a lesson plan before, so I found this lesson to be quite helpful. Now I will be able to use the given tips for a lesson plan structure, what should be included and how it should be written out in my future classes. Going over every item of a lesson plan, the unit did a good job of etching out the specific details of a proper lesson plan.Unit 11 is a treatment of receptive skills required in language, i.e. reading and listening. These two forms of input can either be employed to achieve a specific end goal, a pleasurable experience, or a combination of both. The unit goes on to discuss techniques such as scanning, skimming, and deduction humans use to filter information and achieve the aforementioned two purposes. In choosing teaching material there are important guidelines to follow such as proper topic selection that will create interest and promote comprehension.
