I learned in this unit that a teacher can create her own course book to benefit the students language development. Using a course book developed by an insititution is also beneficial due to the testing that has already been done by the publishers. Course material can be flexible wheter you choose to make your own workbook or use someone elses. Authentic and Created materials add an aspect of interest to a classroom environment. Introdusing students to new theories and vocabulary through both of these concepts can be beneficial and fun.I have studied very similar material in Spanish classes during college. This made this chapter familiar to me but it is still difficult. The most useful material within the unit for teaching are the most common errors sections that are under each of the different types of present tenses. The introduction to the chapter gives interesting perspective on why so many non-native speakers struggle with certain tenses. I think that learning a little bit about the structure of the students language might be a valuable teaching tool for me.
