In this unit I learned about evaluation and testing. Broadly speaking there are three way to evaluate students, these are: tutorials, evaluation by students, and tests. Tests are also divided into a number of categories based on the function the test serves. For example, placement tests are given in order to determine what class a student should be in based on their language abilities. There are also: progress tests (used to gauge what material has been remember/forgotten), diagnostic tests (used to identify strengths and weaknesses at beginning of course), practice tests (used to practice for external exams), and external examinations. Finally, a description of various external examinations was given.
