There are many types of equipment and teaching aids that can be used in a classroom. These include, but are not limited to, coursebooks, visual aids, computers, CDs and other podcasts or audio files, videos or a camera, and the board. Whatever the teaching aid may be, the teacher should be thoroughly versed in its use ahead of time. This is especially true for electronic aids like smart boards, cassette recorders, photocopiers, and so forth. Having the material prepared ahead of time, along with prior knowledge and use of the aid in question, will enable a hassle-free lesson and maximize efficiency and learning for the students. I was delighted to find a list of resources. This unit gave me a lot of ideas I would not have known on my own. Although, to be quite frank, the idea of cassette recorders seems outdated, this unit reminded me that different parts of the world may have different resources. Being aware of that fact will allow me to be better prepared, and thus, better able to help my students.
