It's very important to make a good lesson plan and to make sure you keep it, even if you may have to shorten some of the activities planned. Also, always make time for the students to speak, to practice the language. Best way would be to chose an activity that involves free speech.
when correcting your students, one should be careful not to correct too much. it's better to allow the student to find and correct his/her own mistakes. If the student cannot, then allow other students to help. Finally, if none of them can, that is when the teacher can gently explain the error.
