This unit provides a foundation for the role of the teacher and the student in the classroom. It outlines the qualities that make a good teacher and a good student and provides a framework for the different language levels. I personally learned from the list of factors that affect a student's ability to learn. I didn't realize how many of these factors play a role (such as language awareness and life experiences). I also liked the outline of language levels; this is something that will be very helpful in assessing my own students in the future.
