This unit gave me a good overview of how to conduct a class. There are many methods to teaching, but as a former student, I would choose the methods that engage students with a wide variety of activities. Nothing is worse than being bored in a classroom while the teacher speaks endlessly. In order to hold the students attention, it is important to personalize the lessons, meaning that they learn about things and subjects that are relative to them. I this sense, asking about whether or not they have hobbies or pets is a good way to begin communicating a new language.
