This lesson reviewed basic teacher methodology in the the classroom. First, it discussed various methods that have been used and could still be being used today. Then, it discussed the Engage Study Activate Lesson Plan and its subdivisions, namely Straight Arrow, Boomerang, and Patchwork lessons. What I liked most about this unit was the wide variety of examples given for each part of the ESA lesson. This is is something that will be very helpful in the future. I learned a lot about the context in which various teacher methodologies are effective and ineffective, depending on the context. For example, the Straight Arrow lesson is only useful with simple language tasks.
