Essentially, this unit provides a basic introduction to the dynamics of the classroom. We explored the relationship between teacher and student, as well as the qualities that are typically found among 'good' teachers and 'good' students. We begin to understand how these qualities are inter-related. We are introduced to the various roles which a teacher might need to take on during different portions of the class, which is a fundamental component of teaching methodology. Also, we begin to learn about the ways in which the needs of students may vary according to age, culture, and English learning level.
