This unit related to phonemes and the break down of sound and stress. I have experience with the phonetic system through Cued american english. This is a visual system which shows the vowel and constant sounds of English by using different hand shapes and placements around the mouth and throat. Having experience with Cued American English (Cued Speech) is a benefit for me in being able to break down words based on sound instead of spelling.
