This unit covered various methodologies used to teach ESL. Approaches are explained and evaluated and it is noted that each student and teacher will have their own 'best fit' for an optimum lesson. The 'Engage, Study, Activate' (ESA) teaching method is discussed at length, giving examples of variations of the basic method. Many games and teaching ideas are given. Feedback and correction methods are given, emphasising the importance of constructive balanced evaluation.
