The content of this unit really forced me to slow down and analyze the structure of sentences. As was stated in the material, as a native speaker we put these pieces together without thinking about them but it is important to take a step back and better understand the rules of grammar so you can then explain them to your students. There are many rules that govern parts of speech but yet there are also many exceptions. This unit provided a good review of the parts of speech. The sections on gerunds, infinitives, and auxiliary verbs were the most beneficial.
