The basic rules for modal auxiliary verbs are explained well. Obligation, possibility and probability, permission and prohibition, ability and advice are used with good examples. The modal verbs don't change form according to the person. The different tenses and the correct usage form are laid out well in the charts. The active and passive voices was a little confusing but the tense chart and the passive formation was a great help. Relative clauses have two sub-catagories. They are Defining Relative clauses and Non-defining Relative clauses. The unit also describes these clauses with the usage of pronouns. The three types of phrasal verbs are also covered. the placement of these phrasal verbs was laid out well.
