Unit 1 brings out the role and responsibilities that teachers and students have during lessons. I really appreciate a section about age and motivation of the learner. Now I see that the teacher has to adapt to different circumstances conected with language level and age in order achieve his goal. I thought this lesson was common sense, but I do like the multiple examples supplied by this unit; it's always nice to have a concrete example. I did like the list talking about factors one should look at when analyzing a course book. Managing a classroom isn't as simple as one would intuitively think. There are many things to consider when creating a balanced learning environment. While it is essential to maintain discipline, it is also equally important to establish rapport. The teacher should also consider spending extra time creating the seating arrangement in order to use the classroom space more effectively.
