Teach English in Burnt Islands - TESOL Courses
I was happy to review the basics of sentence structure. It's been a long time since I have seen the word "gerund"" let alone recall its definition. By breaking down the words in each sentence into their defined category This was an excellent overview of the basic rules of grammar. I ignored much of this in elementary, middle, and high school. Because of that, I learned a lot, particularly useful was reviewing gerunds, transitive vs. intransitive, superlatives, and the various types of pronouns. This is going to be a great reference in the future. In this unit the basic parts of speech were the main topic. What I truly reflected upon at the end of this lesson was how most of the rules of English grammar are not concrete and may vary significantly even beyond the main irregular forms. It is certainly something important to remember when teaching.
