In this unit I have learned the differences between teaching vocabulary, grammar, and language functions. An interesting thing is grammar is more structured on when you teach it, but I teacher has a bit more freedom in deciding what vocabulary to teach. The teacher can decide this based on what words they think the student would benefit from learning.This unit was very enjoyable and I feel that the information on different tests will help me as a future teacher. I was unaware of some of these tests, such as the diagnostic test. The example placement test is a useful resource for developing future tests. On reflection, I feel that I will be able to use this knowledge in my future teaching position.
