This chapter reflected on the future tenses, which are more complicated than the present and past tenses. Indeed, some of the present tenses such as the present simple and present continuous tenses could easily be confused with the future tenses. The intricacies of the tenses in English could easily result in conflation as their usages cross paths.The unit gives a brief overview of past tenses used in the English language. It talks about the ways those tenses are formed (what auxiliary verbs they use, how regular and irregular verbs are conjugated etc), it describes main usages of each of the past tenses, and finally, it gives ideas how the past tenses could be practiced at the Activate stage.
