There are two receptive skills: reading and listening, and there are two productive skills: speaking and writing. In this unit I have learnt which activities I could use in each lesson phase (engage, study, activate) and what are the basic keys to successful receptive skills lesson. Also, I found out how we read and listen depending on our interest.In this unit we learn how to establish rapport with new students who aren't accustomed to the ESL teaching methods and how to handle large classes. I feel it is very important to come as prepared as possible for bigger classes and have the whole class planned out already as this will save time and stop the students becoming bored with nothing to do.
