English Grammar - Present Contiuous - Teaching Ideas 3
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
This unit was very helpful with giving ideas and scaffolding on how to structure an effective, engaging and appropriate lesson for our students. I think the engage part of a lesson is vital, we need to activate prior knowledge with our students so that they can connect to the text and this will in turn help them make meaning using clues from the text.If I can make a note for myself it will be to thoroughly plan the lesson with Phrasal verbs, because I really struggled with it. I attended an English Home Language school and it's interesting how we don't learn the basics anymore, we rather teach new vocabulary and concepts. However in the end repetition or should I rather say practice makes perfect.
