Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
What I learned from this unit was the importance of encouraging the students to speak the English language as much as possible within the class setting. I appreciated the lesson planning examples that were given in this unit. The 'straight arrow' approach as well as the 'boomerang' and 'patchwork' ESA structures were helpful to see written out.In this module I have learned about modal verbs, their use in forming sentences and the ways in which each verb can and cannot be applied. I have also learned about passive and active voice and how sentences are constructed using them, finally I am aware of the 3 types of phrasal verb, intransitive, transitive separable and transitive inseparable.
