TEFL TESOL Courses in Chiapas

Our tefl/tesol course in Mexico is based in the state of Chiapas which is bordered by Guatemala in the east, the states of Tabasco, Veracruz and Oaxaca to the north and west, as well as the Pacific Ocean in the south. ITTT’ training school is located in the small provincial town of Chiapa de Corzo. The town is a peaceful and traditional location which provides our trainees with an authentic mexican experience that will stay with them for many years to come.

Despite the town’s size, there is still Plenty to see and do in and around the local area. Just a 20 minute bus ride away you will find Tuxtla Gutierrez, the state capital. This large and modern city provides all the amenities you could need such as bars, restaurants, cinemas and plenty of shopping opportunities. The city is also home to a variety of cultural attractions including museums, galleries and other exhibitions.

Another great place to visit during your free time is the old state capital, Cristobal de las Casas. The city is situated in a beautiful mountain setting and is known as the cultural capital of the region. Here you will find a distinctive spanish atmosphere, with old colonial buildings and cobblestone streets surrounding the central plaza area. The city is also famous for its local handicraft markets and is a great place to get a taste of the local culture and to pick up a bargain or two.

Also on the must see list is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Palenque. These world famous Mayan ruins Date back to the 1st century BC but were abandoned during the 8th century and gradually reclaimed by the surrounding jungle. This magnificent site remained hidden for centuries until their recent discovery and subsequent excavation.

Within easy reach of the training centre you will also find several stunning waterfalls that are well worth a visit. The town’s cultural centre also puts on regular workshops which focus on local traditions and handicrafts, these free activities are a fantastic way of getting to know the history and culture of the local people.

Travelling to our training centre in Mexico should be relatively straightforward as you will find a modern international airport in Tuxtla Gutierrez which has direct routes with many countries. Alternatively, you can fly to Mexico City from anywhere in the world and then catch an internal flight or bus connection to Tuxtla Gutierrez. As long as you have paid your course fee in advance we will be happy to provide a free pick up service from the airport or bus station in Tuxtla Gutierrez.

The School

Our TEFL/TESOL school in Chiapa de Corzo is located near the main square and within comfortable walking distance of our accommodation options, as well as other amenities such as cafes, bars and restaurants. The school is well equipped with all you will need to successfully complete your course including Wi-Fi internet access, photocopying facilities and an extensive resource library. However, we do recommend that you bring your own laptop computer if possible, as computer access is limited.

All the materials you will require during your training, such as course books and handouts.

Accommodation

Our training centre in Chiapa de Corzo is happy to offer our course participants free home stay accommodation for the duration of the course. Our popular home stay option includes a private bedroom and bathroom in the home of a family in the local area. All our home stay families live within a short walk of the school building and are happy for you to use the family kitchen to prepare your own meals if you wish. Our home stay option includes a cleaning service but laundry and meals are not included. Access to the internet is available for 250 pesos for the month.

We interview all our host families and regularly inspect the accommodation to ensure that you have an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Don’t worry if you have never experienced a home stay environment before because our host families are all friendly and welcoming and happy to do all they can to make you feel at home.

If the home stay option is not for you, we can also offer you a variety of hotels and hostels within the immediate area of the training centre. Once we have confirmed your place on our course we will send you the details of all the available options.

Course fees

The total price is divided into: deposit and balance.

The deposit may be paid via a) credit card b) Paypal c) wire transfer d) Western Union.

The balance of the course fee must be paid by cash, PayPal or bank transfer directly to the training center on the first day of the course.

 

Accomodation Fees

We provide free home stay accommodation for all our trainees for the duration of the course. Meals and laundry services are not included and there is a small charge of 250 pesos if you require internet access.

We can also recommend local hotels and guest houses which should be paid for directly to the provider upon arrival.
