The most straightforward way of teaching \"future\" tense is probably to draw attention to the word \"will\". However, there are many other ways to indicate future intentions in speech. For the methods without \"will\" (present simple, present continuous), a time indicator is necessary. This makes the future tense the most difficult to teach students in my opinion, especially given the nuances in meaning that even native speakers may not be consciously aware of (e.g. the difference between \"I will swim.\" and \"I am going to swim.\") There may be added complication if the native language of the student does not encompass such clear time distinctions when talking about the future, because they may not be able to see the ned to differentiate the various types of predictions and intentions.
