In unit 19, I learnt. Methods and techniques of teaching special groups. Many students will fall into two or three categories, the absolute beginner, the false beginner, the adult beginner, the young beginner and the beginner without Roman alphabet and such students will need a lot of initial work on basic literacy skills. Some methods are that teaching beginners requires special skills and psychology. The teacher should be aware of the student's needs, arrange the classroom, control language, encourage students to speak English in class as much as possible, revise constantly, and don't use the student's mother tongue even if you know it. Some possible problems will be on how to help weaker students, what if you run out of material in a lesson, what if students can not understand the tape.
