Unit 16 focused on conditionals and reported speech. Conditionals are sentences containing ?if? which refer to past, present, and future, possibilities. There are five main conditionals: zero conditional, first conditional, second conditional, third conditional, and mixed conditional. In addition to learning these five conditionals, this chapter also discussed typical mistakes that students make when learning about conditionals. It is useful to know, ahead of time, that students may struggle with understanding the difference in usage between the first and second conditionals and also third mixed conditionals. Because I know these difficulties ahead of time, I can make note of this in my lesson to ensure that students understand the difference in usages between these conditionals.
