In this unit I have learned about past tenses and how they can be used to indicate actions happening in the past, For example \"Jane was cooking when Peter arrived.\" This example tells me that Jane wasn't finished with her cooking when Peter arrived. An -ed was added to the verb to change it to the past form. This can be explained to students easily with the help of the information provided in this unit. I have learnt that the base form of regular verbs do not change when changed to the past, however irregular verbs do. For this students can be encouraged to study the verb lists to help them remember and use them from memorised practice. I have also learnt that for past perfect tenses one can always lookout for have/had in the sentences as they are used for future and past perfect tenses.
