In this unit, I learnt how important lesson planning is. Unfortunately, it is important to keep in mind that too much lesson planning can stop the teacher from being flexible to the needs of the students. Although, when writing a lesson plan, there are important functions like an aid to planning, a working document, and a record. When planning a lesson, it is important to keep things simple, don't over plan to script the lesson, maintain structure, consider writing each activity in a margin, and be open to adaptation. As a teacher, it is necessary to be prepared with materials and stay organized. I was also given an example of a lesson plan and what should be put into a lesson plan. In all, lesson planning is very important as a teacher, but it is easy to get too carried away with planning.
