This unit dealt with lesson planning and it's functions as it relates to good lesson presentation. It's important to keep the lesson engaging for the students, while also covering the relevant language point(s). A detailed lesson plan cannot be underestimated for a beginning teacher. It not only provides a record of the material covered, it also provides structure for the lesson and ensures all of the material the teacher wants to cover is presented. It also provides the teacher an opportunity to address their own personal teaching goals. I found the lesson planning exercises at the end of the unit to be quite challenging, but were excellent opportunities to start learning how to articulate the actual lesson plan and think through the actual process in a detailed and structured manner.
