This unit covered how to evaluate and test students in an English language course. It identified the main ways that a teacher can assess a student's language level and progress during the course. It also explained the different types of tests which are used in order to assess a student's english level at the beginning of a course, how they are progressing throughout the course and their end of course/year level. I learned that there are many options available for teachers when it comes to assessing students and depending on the nature of the course sometimes one can have a lot of flexibility when it comes to evaluation. I found it interesting to learn about the different tests and how they can be beneficial as well as learning about the types of external examinations available for students.
