Pronunciation is difficult for both students to learn and for teachers to teach. There are many factors contributing to this fact, such as particular sounds being completely foreign to other languages, native speaker's inability to separate their natural speaking habits to those who cannot relate, and a variety of spelling/speaking and other word/sound changing instances inherent of the English language. In an overview, unit thirteen discusses intonation, word stress within a sentence, stress within multi-syllable words, and aspects of phonetics such as its alphabet, and how and where each sound is produced by the speaker. It is ultimately up to the teacher to decide how and when to teach pronunciation, be it a portion within each lesson's goal, or dedicated lessons entirely on the subject.
