This unit covered modals, phrasal verbs, relative clauses, and passive voice. Modals give the ability to express different ideas with nuance. For example, with modals, the speaker can provide varying degrees of certainty, obligation and ability. Passive voice puts the focus on the subject rather than the active agent. It is not necessary to known or identify the active agent when using the passive voice as they are not the \"star of the show\". This unit covers a portion of English that is for the more advanced English language learner and should be covered thoroughly, returning to each grammar point in later lessons to ensure mastery. The three types of phrasal verbs may be difficult to master as they can be easily confused for one another by learners who have just begun to study them.
