I liked this unit because it brought all the tenses together for me. I also felt that now having past, present, and future knowledge I was better able to compare and contrast the tenses and ponder the nuanced differences. I think that it will be important to do such activities with students. Memorizing usages is impractical for actual speech. I think what will help students the most is to compare tenses. This way we could look at similar sentences that have different tenses and how the meanings are slightly changed. I think that will give my future students more practice to be able to get the hang of tenses. I think the trickiest tenses to teach and for students to learn might be the present simple and present continuous for future usage. Things that don't fit the rules are always more confusing.
