I learned about the different parts of speech, including nouns, adjectives, verbs, articles, adverbs, pronouns, prepositions, gerunds, and conjunctions. I learned to distinguish between countable and uncountable nouns, as well as between indefinite and definite articles when constructing a sentence and when to use them. I also learned the difference between transitive and intransitive verbs, and the different forms of verbs including the bare form and the past simple, past participle, and present participle forms. I learned about the different categories of adverbs and where they are used in a sentence. Perhaps most importantly, I learned where common areas of confusion lie for students of the English language, such as between subject pronouns and object pronouns and the various uses of articles.
