In this unit I have learnt three things basically: 1-The different roles of a teacher during a typical lesson (prompter, tutor, model, etc). 2-How experience, motivation, behavior and culture shape different kinds of learners (adult and young learners) 3-The distinctions between different levels of ability in English (beginners, elementary, etc). For those like me that have been teaching since not long ago, this unit is important to start focusing on our own practice during these first steps ?In my case, I would say that I have a tendency to be a manager or controller of the class. After reading the unit, I am more aware of the different roles that a good teacher should play during the class and try to see whether I could improve my teaching by adopting other roles than that of a controller.
