In this unit I revised Pronunciation and Phonology and some teaching techniques related to both. I agree that teaching proper pronunciation is one of the hardest part of teaching any language to students. Some part of it must be learned through practice and exposure to the language. Using intonation and stress corectly while speaking requires a lot of practice. Teacher can use techniques such as nonsense words, gesture, humming and signing for indicating and teaching intonations. Teachers can utilize constrictive stress, gesture, choral work and stress marks techniques to assist students to get a better understanding of Stress. I also think that every teacher learn phonemic symbols and understand articulation, so he/she would be able to help students to improve their pronunciation to some extend.
