This unit covered the basics of lesson planning. There are no strict rules when it comes to designing a lesson plan. Some people prefer to fill in a template, while others are happy with just jotting down notes on a piece of paper. No matter what method you choose, there are certain elements that should always be included. These include things like what you want the learners to have learnt by the end of the lesson, some problems that may arise, and some possible solutions. On top of this, activities should ideally target a range of communication skills. The duration of these activities should also be noted down. However, when it comes to lesson planning, it is important to stay flexible as things don't always progress according to plan. Therefore there is no need to create scripted concrete plans.
