This unit thoroughly discussed the uncommon practice of teaching proper pronunciation and dictation. I learned many different techniques on how to address both in my teaching. One key problem I would address as a teacher is making sure that I discuss pronunciation and dictation in any lesson I could manage. Though much of the rules on pronunciation and articulation read in this unit demonstrated that proper pronunciation will come with time and practice on the student's part with guidance by me, the teacher, and fellow native English speakers they come into contact with. This is especially the case with learning where and when to stress words, as well as learning intonation. I learned some ways I can use the phonetic alphabet to further explain the different pronunciations of vowels and consonants.
