Past tense means a verb tense that expressing activity and action state that happened in the past time periods. Past tenses include past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. In this unit, we have learned the differences within the four types of past tense. Past simple refers to the action that happened at a specific time in the past. Past continuous refers to the events/activities that lasted for sometime in the past. While, past perfect refers to the action that happened in the past finished before another action in the past started. Lastly, past perfect continuous refers to the action or events that were in progress before some other actions or events. Through this unit, I'm able to differentiate the usage of past tenses to avoid any mistake being made when teaching.
