This unit was particularly interesting because it gave a real-life example of how students' reactions and their participation directly correlates to the mood that the teacher sets in the beginning. The fact that the teacher started by learning the students' names gave a more friendly and personable atmosphere in the room and showed that the teacher cared about each person individually. This got the students to feel more interested and willing to participate. The teaching methods used were easy to understand in the second lesson, while the teacher did not give directions that were easily understood because the students weren't given proper definitions. Although I could continue on, the concept was that I was able to compare and contrast these lessons to determine which techniques were more effective.
